All cats and kittens are given an entry number and judged within their classification. When their number is called, they are taken to the show ring and wait for the judging to begin. The judge removes each cat/kitten and places it on a table. Then the stretching and fingers in our face begins. There is a written breed standard for each breed which the judge uses to determine the best cat/kitten in each breed. The judges then selects the top 10 from within a class: kittens, Allbreed: long/shorthairs, alters, and household pets to advance to the finals. Here the rosettes are awarded and points are earned towards becoming a Grand Champion and Quad Grand. By the way, a kitten is from 4 to 8 months old and then move into the adult class. The points earned by a kitten only go towards regional and international awards. |
