All cats and kittens are given an entry number and judged within their classification.  They are put into benching cages and wait  for the judge to remove them and put them on the table.  Then the stretching and fingers in our face begins.  The judges compare the cats  and kittens to a written breed standard.  The judges then selects the top 10 from within a class: kittens, allbreed long/shorthairs, alters, and household pets to advance to the finals.  Here the rosettes are awarded and points are earned towards becoming a Grand Champion and Quad Grand.  By the way, a kitten is from 4 to 8 months old and then move into the adult class.  The points earned by a kitten only go towards regional and international awards.

ROCK VALLEY CAT CLUB in Loves Park, Illinois on February 7 & 8, 2009

Sahja’s Jenna, a chocolate tortie lynx point Oriental, was shown as a kitten and she was selected as one of the top kittens in five of the six judges rings.   There were twenty three kittens entered in the show.  Grand Champion Sahja’s Glory in the Morning was also shown and finaled as top allbreed cat in one ring and finaled in two other rings.  Both ladies did very well and will be shown again at the Rock Valley Cat Club show in February.  I am sorry I do not have any pictures of Morning being judged at this show.

Sahja’s Jenna, a chocolate tortie lynx point Oriental, is now a Champion with four finals towards becoming a Grand Champion.  Grand Champion Sahja’s Glory in the Morning, a lilac point Siamese has another four finals to add to her quest to become a double Grand.  This was her last show for a while since it is now time for her to be bred.

CENTRAL WISCONSIN CAT CLUB in Wausau, Wisconsin on May 30 & 31, 2009

Sahja’s Jenna was the only cat I showed at this show.  She received 4 out of 8 finals and earned the title of Grand Champion.   Since she is over a year old, it is time for her to be bred.

MADISON CAT CLUB in Stoughton, Wisconsin on July 11 & 12, 2009

This was Sahja’s Pebbles in the Sand’s first show since she was one week past the 4 month age for the kitten class.  She competed with 28 other kittens and received 6 out of 8 finals.  She was third best kitten in the show!  She is a chestnut silver patched spotted tabby Oriental born March 4, 2009.

I also entered Sahja’s Kaeloh Shayna, an ebony Oriental who was born November 2, 2008.  She placed first in breed a couple of times but did not get any finals.

This was a fun time! Sahja’s Pebbles in the Sand  was   joined by Sahja’s Snickers, a seal point Oriental at this show.

Snickers received two final rosettes( 4th and 10th best kitten) and Pebbles received five rosettes( Best Kitten, 2nd, 6th, 8th, and a 10th best kitten).

This was the first show for Sahja’s Ice Crystal Morning,  a lilac point Siamese kitten from GC Sahja’s Glory in the Morning’s first litter.  Crystal was two weeks over the minimum age to be shown as a kitten.  Also shown was Sahja’s Pebbles in the Sand , a chestnut silver patched spotted tabby Oriental, who received two Best Kitten rosettes and a 4th.  Crystal received an 8th Best Kitten.  There were 41 kittens entered in the show  so there was a lot of competition.
