THE GARDEN OUTBACK |
|
Come take a walk in my garden. It was created because the city cleared a 50 x 250 foot swath of my land to redo a drainage area on a landlocked property. With all the trees and native bushes removed, they covered their scar with grass seed. With my love of gardening and butterflies, it was an opportunity to create a relaxing habitat. The original planting in 2003 were seeds, nursery prairie plants and bushes to produce winter food for the birds. It has now developed into lush beds of flowers and grasses with ribbons of grass. There is also an area for neighborhood gatherings around the fire pit or just relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning. Time quickly passes when you are in the garden watching the birds and butterflies. |
